Places to skate.
This is where the differences in style will come into play. Depending on what your style is, you need a place to skate. Street skating is simple, all you need is a good quiet sopt. A skatepark is ideal, but lines can form and that's no fun, so I'd recommend trying it out in the street first, then go to a park. These photos were taken at my local park.

If you skate vert or transitions, then you want to head to the nearest ramp. The cool thing about this type of skating, is that you can build your own spot. Mini ramps in the backyard work just as good as the real thing, and it's a permanent skate pot(rampplans.org). These aren't the easiest to find in the wild, but when you do, the search is worth it. A pool can be found in someone's backyard or even your own. They also build them in skateparks.(windsorpool)

If you've taken up longboarding, then you obviously have somewhere to be and want to skate there... I won't keep you. All you need is a street or a hill. I think you know what that looks like.
